Beijing, China – In 2024, China’s exports experienced significant growth, reaching over 160 countries and regions, according to the General Administration of Customs (GAC). The nation’s exports increased by 7.1% year-on-year, totaling 25.45 trillion yuan ($3.55 trillion), marking the eighth consecutive year of expansion.
Notably, exports to Brazil surged by 23.3%, while those to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia grew by 19.2% and 18.2%, respectively. Trade with ASEAN countries and participants in the Belt and Road Initiative also saw substantial increases, with exports rising by 13.4% and 9.6%, respectively. Traditional markets remained robust, as exports to the European Union and the United States climbed by 4.3% and 6.1%, respectively.
Lyu Daliang, a GAC official, acknowledged the prevailing uncertainties and challenges but emphasized the resilience and dynamism of China’s exports, which encompass a diverse range of products. He highlighted that both new and existing policies are expected to support sustained export growth.
This broad-based export expansion underscores China’s deepening trade relationships worldwide and its pivotal role in global commerce.
