Microsoft has refreshed its leadership team in India and South Asia by announcing three new appointments that signal a stronger focus on artificial intelligence and regional business growth.
Nitin Mittal has joined as the Industry Leader for Digital Natives in India and South Asia. He brings over 24 years of experience in driving digital innovation across various sectors including finance, retail, ecommerce, and media. Mittal has held leadership roles at well known organizations such as Zee Entertainment, the National Payments Corporation of India, and the Unique Identification Authority of India. He also founded SOLV, a digital platform supporting small and medium sized businesses. At Microsoft, his new role will involve helping emerging businesses in the region accelerate their digital journeys.
Himani Agrawal, a veteran with more than 25 years at Microsoft, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer for the region. In her new role, she will oversee business operations, revenue growth, strategic innovation, and efforts to simplify and strengthen Microsoft’s regional presence. Her deep understanding of the company’s vision and experience with its transformation efforts make her a key figure in guiding future growth.
Meanwhile, Aparna Kondaboina has taken over as Head of Human Resources for Microsoft’s Customers and Partners Solutions business in India and South Asia. She has previously led human resources at the Microsoft India Development Centre, which has grown to become the company’s largest development location outside the United States. In her new role, she will focus on developing a strong talent strategy, promoting an inclusive work culture, and building high performing teams to support Microsoft’s business goals in the region.
Puneet Chandok, President of Microsoft India and South Asia, welcomed the new appointments. He said these leaders bring a strong mix of industry knowledge and strategic insight that will help the company move forward in key areas like artificial intelligence, talent growth, and digital transformation.
