Renowned composer A.R. Rahman performed live for first time at Attari Border Post,honoring the sacrifices of Border Security Force (BSF). This happened during Beating Retreat Ceremony,pulling thousands to JCP Stadium in celebration of patriotism.
Charged atmosphere, audience cheering. An experience to remember. venue holds weight; it's backdrop for film Main Vaapas Aaunga, exploring love and longing set against Partition of India, a time of massive migration, personal loss.
Event kicked off with warm welcome from filmmaker Imtiaz Ali,Ananya Birla of Birla Studios,producer Mohit Choudhary of Window Seat Films,and actor Vedang Raina. They expressed gratitude to BSF, dedicating film's upcoming music album to the courage of Indian armed forces .
Rahman’s performance began with "Chanda Suraj Lakhon Taare," setting heartfelt tone. Then lively songs from Main Vaapas Aaunga. Highlights included "Maskara" by Nilanjana Ghosh and Raina,"Ishq Mastana" with Mohit Chauhan, Pooja Tiwari and Nargis. Ending with Rahman’s "Maa Tujhe Salaam," filling venue with national pride.
Ali spoke on event,saying,“This performance is ode to national spirit, to bravehearts on border,BSF and Indian Army,and to spirit of solidarity and love binding us all.” He emphasized film's link to Partition,noting it tells stories of loss but also enduring love.
Main Vaapas Aaunga stars Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari,and Raina . Produced by Birla Studios and Applause Entertainment, set for release June 12,2026. Music by Tips Music. Project aims to strike chord with audiences through love stories amidst historical upheaval .
