An incident involving Air India aircraft and an IndiGo plane occurred on Wednesday evening at Ahmedabad airport,when the Air India flight mistakenly took wrong turn while taxiing. The Air India plane was heading towards the parking bay when it crossed paths with IndiGo aircraft,which was preparing for takeoff .
the two narrow-body A320 jets came to halt approximately 200 meters apart on same taxiway. IndiGo confirmed that its flight, designated 6E 5160, experienced a brief delay as a result of the situation. The airline stated that both planes stopped at a safe distance from each other,and the Air India aircraft was subsequently towed back to its parking bay.
In a statement, Air India acknowledged the incident involving flight AI 2493,which had just landed from Mumbai. The airline emphasized that safety protocols were maintained throughout the ordeal,assuring that there was no risk to passengers or crew. matter has been reported to regulatory authorities, and an investigation is underway.
IndiGo also reported that its flight eventually departed and landed safely at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai. The airline noted that relevant authorities were promptly informed about incident. However, details regarding the number of passengers onboard either aircraft remain unclear.
