Amazon India hit a milestone with its 10th Prime Day,seeing sales skyrocket at record pace . Demand surged in smaller cities — over 70% of new Prime sign-ups came from tier 2 and 3 areas. Shoppers in these places are warming up to online buying .
Same-day delivery boomed,tripling last year's numbers. In Amazon Now cities, half the deals arrived within minutes. More than 25% of Prime Day orders reached customers same day, proving Amazon's speed game is strong.
Premium products were hot . Sales of high-end beauty items tripled,while grooming gadgets over INR 2,500 saw double the sales. Bigger TVs, especially those priced above INR 35,000, doubled too. Premium luggage brands like Samsonite and Delsey Paris grew 1.5 times .
Two-wheelers caught eyes, with sales jumping 1.65 times . Premium bikes over INR 1.5 lakh grew 2.3 times,mostly bought by smaller city shoppers. International home and kitchen brands boomed 4.5 times in tier 2 and 3 cities, beating the national trend.
AI tech was a hit. One in five Windows laptops sold had AI,and new kitchen gadgets like robotic vacuums saw sales spike 4.3 times . Smart water purifiers doubled in buyers .
Payment preferences shifted. Almost half used Amazon Pay. One in four big-ticket items like phones and TVs were bought on EMI, with 80% of those on No Cost EMI. Amazon Pay Later usage grew 2.5 times, easing premium buys.
Amazon Business thrived, with new sign-ups up 3.6 times and Prime memberships tenfold . Bulk buys nearly seven times higher,especially laptops,TVs,and headphones,as businesses jumped on early deals.
Small and medium businesses joined in droves, many breaking INR 10 lakh in sales. Over two-thirds came from smaller cities,showing event's boost for Indian entrepreneurs .
On entertainment, Prime Video rolled out hits like Drishyam 3 and Project Hail Mary. original series Raakh was standout,with biggest debut for Prime Original in two years. It hit number one in 23 countries, Top 10 in 60,streaming in 198 territories .
