Ayurvod, a craft spirit brand blending Indian Ayurvedic traditions with European distillation,snagged a Gold Medal at World Liqueur Awards 2026 in London. This follows another Gold Medal win at Warsaw Spirits Competition earlier this year . Big win for the brand .
Founded by Malayali entrepreneur Midhun Mohan,Ayurvod is made in Poland with an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 40%. It's crafted from premium Polish wheat vodka,infused with over 75 Ayurvedic botanicals like cardamom,turmeric,cinnamon,gooseberry. Sweetened with jaggery,adds natural Polish forest fruits for flavor .
Mr. Mohan spent years on the recipe,working with Polish distiller Mariusz Pluciński. They aimed to blend ancient Indian recipes with modern European distillation. “The recipe of Ayurvod took a lot of inspiration from Ayurvedic recipes. My job was to integrate them into Polish vodka,” he said .
More than just business,Ayurvod seeks to celebrate Indian heritage in global spirits market. Mr. Mohan developed the brand to meet demand for premium spirits that honor Ayurveda principles. This recognition,along with earlier award,positions Ayurvod as a strong contender in premium liqueur segment,highlighting potential of traditional Indian botanical knowledge in high-end distillation.
