With World Cup nearing,Barcelona's Raphinha is all about hitting peak fitness. The 29-year-old winger is set on bouncing back from tough season of injuries as he gears up for Brazil's national team.
In a recent friendly against Egypt,Raphinha showed his flair, playing a key part in Brazil's 2-1 win, assisting Endrick's second goal. Despite this,Raphinha admits he's still chasing full sharpness after a season that battered his physical state .
Reflecting on his recovery,Raphinha said,“I’m trying to prepare myself in best way so I always arrive at national team and give my all, whether physically or tactically.” An injury benched him for over a month, but he stayed committed to rehab and training. “I was always striving to give my best during treatment period and at club, so I could reach national team in 100% physical condition,” he added.
Recent playing time has been crucial for match fitness . “I’m still working to reach full physical readiness at 100%. And I believe minutes I played today were important for me, because they gave me more playing time and helped me regain match feeling to a greater extent,” he said after the game .
Raphinha's path hasn't been smooth . Muscle injuries have held him back, stopping him from reaching 2024/25 season's heights. Yet he's become key figure for coach Hansi Flick, his drive to contribute unchanged .
With World Cup looming,Raphinha's focus is sharp. He stressed Brazilian squad's singular aim: “The goal is one and it cannot be anything else. When you wear Brazil national team jersey, your desire must be to win World Cup.”
This mindset hits home with Barcelona fans who see Raphinha's dedication, especially in big games. His hunger to shine for Brazil is clear. Team's success could hinge on his performance.
As he battles through recovery, all eyes will be on Raphinha as he aims to help Brazil secure World Cup glory…
