Madhya Pradesh Congress battling internal chaos. Allegations of land scam involving Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's family have leaders clashing publicly. Another headache after Rajya Sabha candidate Meenakshi Natarajan's nomination rejected for not disclosing court notice.

June 24, State Congress president Jitu Patwari accused Yadav of transferring government land worth ₹500 crore in Ujjain to a trust for just ₹1. Said Yadav’s cultural advisor,Shriram Tiwari,is a trustee. He made these claims in New Delhi, trying to rally against BJP.

But former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh hit back. In Ujjain,he told reporters land wasn't given to private trust but government one, with Yadav as ex-officio chairman. “I have gotten documents on that . I don’t come without putting in research,” Singh said, dismissing claims and calling some “dalaal” or brokers spreading lies.

Public spat worries party leaders. Undermines efforts to challenge BJP. After Singh's rebuttal, political affairs committee meeting heated up. Terms like “sleeper cell” thrown at dissenting voices, calls for unity in messaging.

Former Union Minister Arun Yadav took to social media. Urged Rahul Gandhi to step in. Warned personal grievances shouldn't hurt party morale. “If responsible people try to exploit their personal grievances... it will not be right,” he wrote.

Trying to show unity, Singh and Patwari held joint press conference. Tried to squash rift rumors. Singh said, “He is like my son and I have been with the Congress for more than 50 years.” Clarified “dalaal” meant a local journalist, not Congress member.

BJP pounced on this. Highlighted Singh's refutation as proof of Congress discord. M.P . BJP media in-charge Ashish Agarwal said, “The lifespan of a lie isn’t very long! The malicious campaign that Congress President Jitu Patwari was trying to pass off as truth has been deflated by Congress senior leader and former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh himself.”

Despite attempts to downplay, issue reached national leadership. Intervention from Delhi expected. As Congress gears up for Datia byelection, concerns about internal unity persist. One Congress MLA worried,“Do we realize that 2028 [Assembly election] is just two years away? The BJP already has a very strong machinery and booth management system.”

With Congress facing tough electoral terrain, infighting fallout could linger. Affecting its fight against BJP in state…
