Delegation from Confederation of Real Estate Developers Associations of India (CREDAI) met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C . Joseph Vijay Wednesday,urging faster project approvals and intervention on contentious Ramsar wetland designation affecting thousands of landowners.
Mehul H. Doshi,President of CREDAI Chennai,said cutting corruption would boost investment big time. He pointed to approval delays as industry's top concern. Doshi argued that faster clearances,especially through an efficient single-window system,would speed up project execution. Delegation also highlighted city's infrastructure needs,emphasizing need for stronger public transport links for future growth.
S. Sridharan,Executive Committee Member for CREDAI National,flagged "Ramsar issue" with the Chief Minister. He pointed out one-kilometre influence zone notification has hit nearly 8,000 acres of patta land and over 1.5 lakh patta holders. CREDAI asked for Chief Minister's help to resolve it.
The 1-kilometre "influence area" is being challenged in High Court . This zone has stalled planning,created financial uncertainty for over one lakh patta landowners.
