Dharmendra Pradhan, India's Union Minister of Education,held urgent review meeting Thursday on NEET UG re-examination prep,set for June 21, 2026 . Senior officials from Ministry of Education, State Governments,National Testing Agency (NTA), and higher education institutions gathered .
Present were Sanjay Kumar, Secretary of Department of School Education and Literacy, Vineet Joshi,Secretary of Department of Higher Education, and Abhishek Singh, Director General of NTA . Objective: ensure all logistical and operational areas covered before exam .
Pradhan stressed need for integrity, transparency,efficiency in exam process. Urged vigilance and readiness, calling for fair,smooth re-examination . “We must ensure necessary measures are in place for free and fair conduct of the re-examination,” he said.
Coordination was key. Minister said Ministry officers will visit states to oversee activities, reporting to Command Centre led by NTA's Director General . State nodal officers told to create stress-free environment for students, ensuring essential resources available.
Kumar emphasized making students comfortable during exam. Called for proper seating and drinking water, urging state officials to meet these needs.
Joshi noted crucial time before re-exam, stressing proactive coordination,timely communication of instructions . Emphasized strict protocol adherence for smooth process.
Singh detailed NTA's work with stakeholders,including district committees, local police, and intelligence agencies. Assured these partnerships crucial for smooth re-exam execution.
Meeting touched on security,logistics,grievance redressal . Participants urged to keep close communication with stakeholders for a transparent exam process.
