Germany punched its ticket to World Cup knockout stage for first time since 2014. Beat Ivory Coast 2-1 in Toronto during second Group E match. Victory came late — Deniz Undav scored both goals for Germany, one in 68th minute,another in stoppage time at 90+4. Ivory Coast struck first, Franck Kessie netting in 30th minute.
Germany had tough start . Two first-half goals disallowed for rule violations. But they regrouped,clinched win . Now with six points,they top Group E, guaranteeing advancement to knockout rounds.
This turnaround big for Germany,who stumbled in group stage last two tournaments, 2018 and 2022 . Last time they made it this far was 2014,when they won fourth World Cup title.
