Construction of new office for YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in Dasannapeta,Vizianagaram, has sparked a row involving Goa Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju. He alleges officials tampered with land records, wrongly marking his family's property as government land. Site covers about four acres,75 cents, located on prime Ring Road spot in Vizianagaram.

Land,Survey No . 569,was leased to YSRCP on May 18,2022,under Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy's former government. But this site has long been listed as private in Town Survey Register of Vizianagaram Municipal Corporation. He argues authorities didn't notify PVG Raju's heirs before declaring it government property in 2021.

In letter to district Collector on May 23,2025,Mr . Ashok requested land's return to Pusapati family, claiming records were altered to favor ruling party. He aired concerns to media, questioning government's legitimacy over land. “What is the basis on which it is determined that the land belonged to the government when the Town Survey Records showed it is a private land settled on Vizianagaram Estate?” he asked.

Responding,Majji Srinivasa Rao,YSRCP district president and Zilla Parishad chairperson, defended the lease process. Said Revenue and Municipal officials followed proper procedures leasing land to party. Rao criticized timing of Mr. Ashok's objections, noting issue arose only after party office construction began in 2022. Pusapati family hadn't contested allocation during process.

Rao suggested Mr. Ashok's actions were politically driven, implying pressure on administration due to National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in power. Emphasized no need for YSRCP to acquire private land for office construction.

District officials have stayed quiet on controversy, only stating matter's been referred to state government for review. As dispute unfolds, what this means for local governance and politics in Vizianagaram…
