In April,family from United Arab Emirates set off on a week-long educational and business tour in China,spending about 300,000 yuan (US$44,228). Their journey to Shanghai hit many snags due to Iran war disruptions,but they stayed determined. “Their willingness to make the trip was unwavering,” said Lilian Liu from UFOX Travel,which organized it.
These affluent clients were rare few years back. Her company used to arrange trips for Chinese entrepreneurs to Dubai and Abu Dhabi,focused on property and energy projects. But lately,a shift has happened. Last winter,Liu hosted over 40 students from an Abu Dhabi private high school,most from middle- and upper-income families,keen to explore educational opportunities in China .
