Hong Kong and mainland China plan to kick off cross-border data sharing this year, Technology and Industry chief Sun Dong confirmed. Move comes as Hetao innovation hub gears up for expansion,more companies set to join .
Interview marking 29 years since Hong Kong returned to Chinese sovereignty,Sun highlighted government's achievements and future goals. He said second half of year critical for activating plans at Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone in Lok Ma Chau Loop.
Also,Sun announced plans for local students to interact with Lai Ka-ying,Hong Kong’s first astronaut,while she's in space. Events could start with new school term,giving students rare chance to connect with space pioneer.
