India and Canada have kicked off a new platform aimed at boosting their economic ties. This move should ramp up engagement between businesses in both countries and strengthen trade connections.
The idea took shape during Piyush Goyal's visit,India's Commerce and Industry Minister. He met with industry leaders and Canada's International Trade Minister,Maninder Sidhu. They talked about improving connections, especially in personal interactions and business operations, to drive trade.
After their discussions, both ministers committed to a Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA),hoping to finalize talks by year-end. They aim to double bilateral trade by 2030, enhance market access, and spur economic growth for both nations.
Minister Sidhu also revealed plans for a Team Canada Trade Mission to India. This shows their commitment to strengthening ties . Canada-India Trade and Investment Forum is a big step toward building new business partnerships and boosting economic collaboration.
