Minister of BC and EWS Welfare,Handloom & Textiles,S. Savitha,is demanding immediate action to spruce up welfare hostels before new academic year starts . At a review meeting Tuesday, she stressed repairs must wrap up before students arrive. Aim is to dodge any flak about conditions.
Last year, hostel inmates complained about wardens and principals. Savitha gave a stern warning back then. And she made it clear any repeat will be dealt with seriously. She also warned that opposition parties might seize on these issues, urging officials to avoid slip-ups that could spark bad press .
Minister emphasized boosting enrollment in BC welfare hostels, part of government's push for better educational access for Backward Classes. She ordered medical tests for students upon arrival and announced special coaching for competitive exams like IIT and NEET.
She didn't stop there. Savitha told Handloom Department to boost sales at APCO showrooms across state. Her orders aim to strengthen education and economy for communities she oversees…but will it be enough?
