Former Maharashtra Minister Padmasinh Patil is main accused, facing serious charges in 2006 murder of Congress leader Pawanraje Nimbalkar. Case draws attention due to implications for Maharashtra politics, given Patil's ties as brother of Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar.
On June 15,2026,court said it needed more time to prepare judgment, prompting postponement. Verdict was expected May 14 but delayed when accused didn't appear. All nine accused showed up for June 16 hearing, presence verified.
