Authorities in Tiruchi nabbed nine individuals,including two young men and seven juveniles, over alleged sexual harassment of 17-year-old girl. The victim from Mudaliarsathram disappeared last month, prompting parents to report her missing to local police.
After a thorough search,police found the girl. She initially refused to return home,so authorities placed her in registered children's shelter. There,she confided to staff about harassment by group she met on Instagram.
Shelter management quickly alerted the District Child Protection Officer,who launched formal inquiry. After detailed statement from girl,Fort All Women Police filed case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
