Built at elevations from 2,900 to 3,310 meters,tunnel faced severe weather, complex geology . “Despite heavy snowfall, harsh weather, India’s engineers have turned this tough task into reality,” Gadkari stated.

Equipped with advanced safety features,including modern ventilation,fire detection, CCTV surveillance. Travel time between Sonamarg in Jammu and Kashmir and Minamarg in Ladakh will drop from two hours to 30 minutes,cutting fuel use,accident risk.

Gadkari credited project’s progress to Prime Minister Narendra Modi,saying it links not just mountains but opportunities. He affirmed government’s drive to develop Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh with modern infrastructure .
