Agricultural Initiative Launched in Mandya
Farmers in Mandya being pushed towards commercial crops under new ‘Munnade Mandya Vision-2035’ initiative. On Saturday, local MLA P. Ravikumar stressed using irrigation facilities well to boost farm productivity and economic outlook. The two-day event, featuring an Agricultural Entrepreneurship Session, Buyers-Sellers Meet,and Farmers’ Bazaar (R-Mart), is a team effort with Mandya First Circle, Department of Agriculture,and Bellada Nadu Farmers Producers Companies Federation.
Ravikumar talked about turning traditional farmers into agri-entrepreneurs . Said the program aims to teach skills in processing,value addition,marketing, and finance. "Farmers should shift from being traditional cultivators to agricultural entrepreneurs and job creators," he urged,encouraging full engagement with new opportunities.
The MLA also outlined big projects in the area, saying about ₹1,500 crore set aside for upgrading Mandya city . He spoke of recent village road repairs and the Kempegowda Road project launch two months ago. With ₹100 crore earmarked for city development,Ravikumar seemed hopeful Mandya would see big changes in six months.
Jayaram Raipur, another speaker,reaffirmed focus on high-income commercial crops. He emphasized branding and quality for entrepreneurial success. Gathering also included figures like D.
