Concerns about electoral guidelines are surfacing during Karnataka's ongoing revision process. Pralhad Joshi, federal minister for consumer affairs, said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will soon meet state's Chief Electoral Officer to tackle these issues.
After joining enumeration process July 4,Joshi likened current voter revision to "mass copying" in exams . He worried that voter registration integrity was at risk, claiming forms were filled en masse in mosques and community centers instead of approved door-to-door checks .
The minister said BJP had gathered substantial evidence, including photos and videos. This will be shown to Chief Electoral Officer in their upcoming meeting. Joshi stressed officials must strictly follow electoral commission rules, calling for Booth Level Officers to visit homes personally, not rely on group verifications .
“We demand electoral rolls truly reflect legitimate voters,” he said, clarifying the party's not trying to alter lists based on religious lines . He noted similar protocols were followed in past revisions .
Joshi urged voters across Karnataka to aid Booth Level Officers during visits, ensuring electoral roll integrity . Earlier,he took part in revision at his home, completing paperwork under Dharwad's Deputy Commissioner, Snehal R. Other BJP leaders like Arvind Bellad,Deputy Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Legislative Assembly, and MLA Mahesh Tenginakai attended the event. What happens next…?
