Experts have voiced concerns regarding the ecological risks associated with the Wayanad tunnel project,which is part of larger initiative to connect Kozhikode and Wayanad. The Ministry of Environment,Forest and Climate Change had previously imposed 24 conditions on the project to mitigate environmental impact,including requirements for compensatory afforestation and proper land management.
