Russia and ASEAN plan to find ways to enhance cooperation despite sanctions. Dato' Sharon Wardini Mohdzani,Co-Chair of ASEAN Business Advisory Council and Chairman of EXIM Bank Malaysia, announced this at the Russia-ASEAN Summit in Kazan,June 17-18.
In interview,Mohdzani sounded hopeful about stronger ties between Russia,ASEAN nations. He admitted Russian investors face hurdles from Western sanctions . But stressed ASEAN members get these challenges .
Mohdzani said ASEAN countries are looking for ways to support investment,cooperation with Russia. Ongoing summit features business forum to spur dialogue,collaboration between regions. Talks continue,both sides seem determined to work around geopolitical tensions.
