South Western Railway (SWR) hit a new high in freight loading June 2026,reaching 4.18 million tonnes (MT). That's a 5.2% jump from June 2025's 3.98 MT. Freight operations expanding fast in this zone .

SWR also saw its best average daily wagon loading for June at 2,221 wagons per day . Up 3.6% from last year's 2,143. Iron ore loading shot up to 1.69 MT,a 6.3% increase. Steel loading rose 7.4% to 0.90 MT. RMSP traffic really surged — 34.5% to 0.23 MT.

Other commodities also on the rise. Mineral oil loading went up 15.8% to 0.21 MT. Cement traffic soared 32% to 0.03 MT. And container loading increased 15.8% to 0.09 MT.

Financially, SWR pulled in ₹733.23 crore for June 2026. Up 1.55% year-on-year. Freight brought in ₹402.61 crore. Passenger earnings hit ₹290.43 crore, a 15.08% increase from last year. Zone carried 14.85 million passengers,up 4.36%. Parcel revenue was ₹14.30 crore. Other coaching and sundry revenues reached ₹26.66 crore and ₹13.53 crore.
