Mumbai's entertainment scene is buzzing after a YouTube video with actor Varun Dhawan and comedian Tanmay Bhat went viral. The clip surfaced soon after film industry lifted non-cooperation order against Ranveer Singh over the Don 3 controversy, sparking chatter on social media.
In this video,Dhawan joins Bhat and comedians Rohan Joshi,Piyush Sharma, Zakir Khan for a light-hearted episode. During the chat, Bhat praised Dhawan's professionalism, saying,“Varun, everybody you’ve worked with says that despite being such a big star of Bollywood, you are a professional, responsible, dedicated.” He then joked that these traits might be what filmmaker Farhan Akhtar wants, leaving the remark hanging.
The jab drew laughs from group, with one quipping “Don No. 1” and another referencing Dhawan's film with “Main Tera Don.” Dhawan himself joined in, repeating “Main Tera Don,” which fueled humor. Many viewers saw Bhat's comment as a subtle dig at Singh, amid the Don 3 drama.
Backdrop to this comedy is key. Earlier this month,Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) lifted its non-cooperation order against Singh,in place since he left Don 3 project last year. This followed appeals from Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) and Cine and TV Artists Association (CINTAA).
IMPPA president Abhay Sinha said producers’ body would probe the matter, checking pre-production costs and contracts between Singh and filmmakers. He noted Akhtar's team had reached out for clarity, and committee would review documents to address claims from both sides.
Despite ongoing talks and lifting of the non-cooperation order, Singh has stayed silent, dodging media even as he makes public appearances. Don 3 situation remains fluid…fans and industry insiders are on edge, waiting for next move.
