The fourth edition of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) is set to take place from September 25 to 29 at the India Expo Center and Mart in Greater Noida, aiming to position Uttar Pradesh as a key player in global trade and manufacturing . Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the event's role in showcasing the state's industrial capabilities and fostering connections with international markets during a review of preparations on Friday.
Adityanath described UPITS as more than just a trade exhibition, calling it a vital platform that aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Make in India' and 'Make for the World.' He asserted that the trade show represents Uttar Pradesh's “Unlimited Potential” and urged for extensive promotion to attract investors, buyers, and visitors from around the globe.
This year's theme, 'UP for Global Growth: Innovation,Manufacturing and Exports,' reflects the ambitious goals of the event. Organizers expect participation from over 2,400 exhibitors, more than 150,000 registered B2B buyers,and upwards of 450,000 B2C visitors, alongside 550 international buyers from 85 countries. The trade show aims to facilitate over 4,000 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs),with a projected value exceeding ₹3,200 crore and business inquiries estimated at ₹13,500 crore.
To enhance participation, Chief Minister directed officials to engage actively with countries such as Singapore, Oman, Austria, Brazil,Thailand, Japan,Indonesia, and Russia. A diverse array of sectors will be highlighted, including One District One Product (ODOP),MSMEs, electronics, defense, agriculture,tourism, renewable energy, and more. This broad representation aims to illustrate Uttar Pradesh's multifaceted industrial landscape.
In addition to business opportunities, the trade show will feature knowledge sessions on topics like Artificial Intelligence,electronics manufacturing,and global free trade agreements. Adityanath stressed the importance of making these sessions beneficial for industry representatives and entrepreneurs, advocating for expert discussions on contemporary issues such as cybercrime and labor codes.
Culture will also play a significant role in the event . Chief Minister called for performances showcasing Uttar Pradesh's rich heritage, including classical music, folk dance, and other cultural expressions. This initiative aims to provide guests with a taste of the state's cultural diversity.
Coordination with Indian missions abroad has been established to connect with international buyers effectively. Continuous outreach is underway to facilitate buyer-seller meetings,helping local entrepreneurs tap into new global markets. The Chief Minister also highlighted the need for Udyami Mitras to assist during the trade show and encouraged participation from students and youth from local universities to enhance visitor experiences.
Security and logistical arrangements are being prioritized as well. The Police Commissioner of Gautam Buddha Nagar provided updates on traffic management, parking,and public convenience measures during the event. The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority is also working on necessary infrastructure improvements at the venue,including the operation of electric vehicles for visitor transport.
Adityanath reiterated that UPITS is not merely commercial event but a crucial step toward achieving developed Uttar Pradesh and a one-trillion-dollar economy. He urged all departments to collaborate effectively to ensure the event reflects the state's industrial progress and investment-friendly environment .
During the meeting, the Chief Minister also reviewed the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Employment and Industrial Area Development Scheme. An Expression of Interest (EOI) was issued on May 27,attracting interest from major players like BVG Group,TCS,and Hiranandani Group. The scheme aims to establish Uttar Pradesh as a national center for skill development and industrial growth, with plans for 17 centers across 19 districts in its first phase.
Under this initiative, nine regional hubs will be developed to provide skill training to approximately 1 million youths annually,with a target placement rate of 80 percent for those trained. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for effective inter-departmental coordination to ensure timely implementation of scheme.
