Weather patterns in Andhra Pradesh are expected to remain inconsistent as light showers and thunderstorms are forecasted for the Rayalaseema region on Monday. Meanwhile, other areas of the state may continue to experience high temperatures,although no heatwave alerts have been issued.
On Sunday,May 31, the highest temperature recorded was a scorching 44.3°C in Atchampeta, located in the Palnadu district. Other hot spots included Kavali in Nellore district at 43.9°C,and Vuyyuru and Nandigama in Krishna and NTR districts, both at 43.7°C. Additional high temperatures were noted in Kopperapadu (43.6°C), Kukunoor (43.4°C), Kunavaram (43.4°C), Nandanamarella (43.4°C),and Doravarisatram (43.3°C) in Tirupati.
Despite the heat,several areas in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema received light to moderate rainfall. highest precipitation was recorded in Vadiampeta of Bukkaraya Samudram with 36 mm,followed by Kondapuram at 30.25 mm and Thipaipalem at 29.75 mm.
A trough extending from a cyclonic circulation over Vidarbha to another over the East Central Bay of Bengal is influencing these weather conditions . This system is expected to bring light to moderate rains, along with thunderstorms and lightning, particularly in the districts of Anantapur,Sri Sathya Sai,Kadapa,Annamayya, and Chittoor.
The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted isolated light showers and thunderstorms across the state until June 7,with no heatwave warnings anticipated for week ahead.
