Joko Widodo, Indonesia's former president, is on a nationwide political tour to boost Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI),led by his son Kaesang Pangarep . Tour kicked off in Lampung Friday,with Widodo joining PSI officials and accepting local royal title, showing he's still a force in politics even after leaving office .
Known as Jokowi,he wore party colors at visit, timed with PSI's local congress . Analysts see this as strategic to raise party's profile. Aiming to shift it from marginal to major player before 2029 elections. “Jokowi clearly has concluded that it is time to develop PSI into a credible political force,” said Marcus Mietzner,Indonesia expert at Australian National University.
