The Thailand Maldives Business Matching Forum came to a successful close on Sunday at Hotel Jen in Malé. The event brought together 30 Thai companies along with a wide range of Maldivian business leaders and government officials. Organized by the Thai Trade Centre in Chennai, the forum focused on building stronger trade links between the two countries.
Visitors had the chance to explore a wide variety of Thai products on display. These included wellness items, food and beverages, fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as household goods. For Maldivian entrepreneurs, the forum provided a valuable opportunity to meet Thai companies and explore future partnerships.
Chek Jeenaphan, Director of the Thai Trade Centre in Chennai, spoke at the opening ceremony. He highlighted the importance of the growing relationship between Thailand and the Maldives. He shared his hope that this forum would go beyond just trade and lead to cooperation in other areas as well. “Thailand and the Maldives already share strong trade relations and this forum is just the beginning of broader opportunities,” he said.
This is the third year in a row the forum has been held and it has quickly become a key event for encouraging connections between local and international businesses. The energy this year was especially high, with many participants expressing excitement about future ventures.
