12-year-old boy from rural Ethiopia has won many hearts after trying to check his sick chicken into local hospital. Markos Abaye's devotion to his pet clear when he rushed the ailing bird to Denbecha Primary Hospital in Amhara region,hoping for medical help there.
Moment caught on camera by nurse Umer Chane, going viral on TikTok with over 770,000 views . In video,Markos cradles chicken, worried, telling nurse, "She is wheezing." Chane gently explains hospital is for humans,advises him to see a vet instead.
Markos went to hospital after his uncle, Kelemework Amogne,suggested professional care for chicken . Though Denbecha has veterinary services,Markos didn't know . Uncle noted Markos was so upset he stopped eating and studying.
