Moderate earthquake,5.0 on Richter scale,hit Himachal Pradesh Friday night . Tremors shook several districts like Kangra and Chamba. Quake struck at 10:04 PM,about 40 kilometers from Dharamsala,epicenter near Dhar Godoi in Kangra. Depth recorded at 5 kilometers,said meteorological office.

Tremors reached beyond Himachal Pradesh,into parts of Chandigarh,Punjab,and Haryana . Baldev Chand from Chandigarh felt a mild shake while getting ready for bed. "The tremors lasted only for a few seconds," he said,noting quake's briefness.
