It serves as a vital route linking Mysuru-Ooty and Mysuru-Wayanad, facilitating movement of tourists, commercial goods, passenger vehicles and interstate transport on a daily basis. The present traffic bottleneck is causing inconvenience to commuters and adversely affecting smooth traffic movement on this crucial national highway,” he said.Pointing out that the old bridge, which was inaugurated during the tenure of former Chief Minister Ramakrishna Hegde, has become structurally weak and unusable, Mr.

Shivakumar requested Mr. Gadkari to demolish the old bridge while sanctioning and constructing a new parallel bridge at the earliest.“This will help divert traffic efficiently, reduce pressure on the existing bridge and ensure uninterrupted vehicular movement on NH-766,” he said.“Considering the strategic importance of this route for South India’s interstate connectivity, tourism and economic activity, I earnestly request your good self to kindly intervene personally and direct the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to immediately take up this project and accord necessary sanction on priority,” he said.Mr.
