New partnership looks to shake up drone delivery in Andhra Pradesh. Airbound, a Bengaluru aerospace firm,inked a deal with AP Drone Corporation (APDC) to set up drone delivery network across Amaravati capital region. Signed Thursday in New Delhi,K. Rammohan Naidu,Union Minister of Civil Aviation, was there as Geetanjali Sharma,CMD of APDC,and Naman Pushp, founder and CEO of Airbound,sealed the agreement.
Amaravati Capital Region Drone Delivery Network (ACR-DDN) will link Amaravati,Vijayawada, and Guntur with drone flights. Airbound plans to team up with healthcare,logistics,e-commerce players to get this going . Starts in Guntur, aiming for 10,000 daily drone flights statewide within year.
Airbound’s new blended-wing-body tailsitter aircraft is key here — weighs only 1.50 kg with payload ratio of 1.5:1 . Lighter than industry norm of 4:1.
