Amazon is gearing up for its Prime Day sale, which will take place from July 4 to July 6,as it focuses on West Bengal's 70,000 sellers. This initiative not only aims to expand its customer base but also to enhance delivery efficiency across region. The upcoming event marks the 10th edition of Prime Day, featuring a range of deals, product launches, and exclusive offers for Prime members .
In West Bengal,Amazon has established a significant operational footprint,including three Fulfilment Centres and three Sortation Centres. The company also operates over 1,050 Amazon Hub Delivery locations and nearly 100 delivery stations,both owned and partnered. a senior manager at Amazon, these investments have led to a remarkable increase in delivery speeds . In Kolkata, for instance,same-day and next-day deliveries have surged by more than 60%.
Singh highlighted the evolving shopping trends in the region, noting a shift towards premium products . The segment for items priced above INR 30,000 is accelerating, while the INR 20,000 to 25,000 category has seen double-digit growth year over year . Specific categories have performed exceptionally well; monitors recorded over 20% growth,dishwashers increased by more than 25%,premium refrigerators grew by over 35%, and premium washing machines saw close to 15% growth. Singh remarked on the unique blend of heritage-inspired fashion with modern styles among West Bengal customers,who are increasingly embracing handloom aesthetics alongside trusted brands.
As Amazon celebrates a decade of Prime Day in India, the company has noted strong engagement from members in West Bengal. Singh stated,"Prime Day continues to be a key moment where we bring together the best of shopping,savings and entertainment exclusively for our Prime members." This year,Amazon is introducing a special sign-up offer, along with an extensive selection of deals and new product launches,aiming to make this Prime Day largest celebration yet.
To commemorate the 10-year milestone, Amazon is providing Prime members with access to exclusive offers across various categories,branded as "10th Anniversary deals." Members can also enjoy an additional 10% discount on payments made through SBI and Axis Bank. This Prime Day will feature over 500 new products, alongside lowest prices of year and exclusive deals from both Indian and global brands, including OnePlus, Samsung,Lego,Adidas, and Allen Solly, as well as offerings from small and medium businesses.
In a bid to attract new members, Amazon is rolling out a limited-time Anniversary offer. New subscribers can receive a flat INR 500 discount on the annual Prime membership, reducing the price from INR 1,499 to INR 999 . Additionally, the Prime Lite membership will be available for INR 599 per year, down from INR 799,while Prime Shopping Edition will cost INR 299 per year, reduced from INR 399 . This pricing strategy aims to make Prime Day accessible to a wider audience.
