Bengaluru police arrested three persons for allegedly assaulting a pedestrian without provocation and later damaging private property in south Bengaluru’s V.V. Puram on May 20.The accused have been identified as Abhishek, 26, Puneeth, 27, and Umesh, 26, all friends and residents of south Bengaluru. The incident unfolded around 4 a.m.
on May 20 when the victim was passing by Magadi Venkatappa Road.the trio had partied earlier in the night and arrived at the location in an inebriated condition. “Abhishek had an ongoing family dispute, which was the reason behind the incident. While under the influence of alcohol, the accused were creating a ruckus on the road and damaged a two-wheeler parked there,” the officer said.Further, the trio noticed a passerby and allegedly assaulted him with a stick.
CCTV footage of the incident was widely circulated on social media, attracting the attention of the police. Based on the video, the V.V. Puram police registered a suo motu case and arrested the accused.
