Quick commerce platform bigbasket has tapped Amit Nanda as new CEO,signaling change amid fierce competition in India's online grocery scene. Nanda,with 20+ years in the industry,spent over a decade at Amazon India in various leadership roles,most recently as Director of Selling Partner Services .
Nanda now tasked with steering bigbasket's growth and innovation. Co-founders Hari Menon and Vipul Parekh stay on as Board Members,mentoring Nanda and leadership team on strategy.
Excited about joining bigbasket,Nanda highlighted the strong consumer trust and Tata Group connection. “Combining bigbasket’s customer-first values with Tata's trusted legacy creates a solid future,” he said. He also praised Menon’s team,noting its private label success.
Before Amazon,Nanda held senior marketing roles at Citibank India,handling retail banking and cards . Nearly a decade at Hindustan Unilever too,where he managed sales and marketing for brands like Kissan and Lipton. Nanda graduated from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and holds a mechanical engineering degree from Delhi College of Engineering.
