BJP spokesperson Narayanan Thirupathy hit back Friday,responding to Tamil Nadu Minister R. Nirmalkumar's criticism of Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. Thirupathy called it "politically motivated and unwarranted." He emphasized Governor's role in key civic and environmental matters, citing Vaigai River's worsening condition in Madurai.
Thirupathy praised Governor's call for Madurai's youth to help restore river,saying it's a commendable move . But he accused Minister Nirmalkumar of questioning Governor's capacity to act on these urgent issues. "By dismissing a sincere effort to rejuvenate an essential river in his constituency,the Minister is choosing political rivalry over genuine needs of citizens," Thirupathy said.
