The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced Sunday it has contained vulnerabilities in the OnMark portal,managed by its service provider. board is also looking for any other weaknesses in the system.
On X, CBSE addressed public concerns about security flaws. “We have been closely monitoring vulnerabilities in the OnMark portal,” the board said. expert team of cybersecurity professionals has been mobilized from government sectors and Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) to boost the platform's security.
CBSE thanked vigilant citizens and ethical hackers who flagged these vulnerabilities. The board has contacted some of these individuals directly and urged others to share more insights. They can reach the security team at secy-cbse@nic.in.
Even with the vulnerabilities contained, board is staying alert. Ongoing evaluations of the OnMark portal come as scrutiny of CBSE's evaluation system increases. This has gained attention, especially after allegations of data breaches involving answer sheets.
