The Krushi Pe Charcha seminar zeroed in on cutting-edge agricultural tech at Ravindra Bhavan in Sankhali on Tuesday. Run by Directorate of Agriculture,it pulled in farmers,students,experts,and agri-entrepreneurs keen to explore agriculture's shifting landscape.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant kicked off seminar,hammering home tech-driven agriculture's role in achieving a prosperous Swayampurna Goa. He mingled with attendees,highlighting government's promise to boost farmers' welfare statewide.
A big moment came with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Directorate of Agriculture and NABCONS. This aims to roll out AgriStack and Goa's new State Agriculture Policy,pushing tech into agricultural governance. Key features: Digital Farmer IDs,better crop data management, and easier access to government services.
Experts led chats on bamboo cultivation,jackfruit processing,horticulture,spice growing,and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs). These talks offered hands-on insights into value addition and sustainable farming .
Sawant pushed high-value crops like bamboo and turmeric,plus moves to boost beekeeping and revive traditional Khazan farming. He promised fair returns for farmers,regardless of market swings.
Reflecting on agriculture's big picture,Sawant noted Goa's exports have nearly hit ₹5 crore,showing sector's growing clout. He credited this to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's focus on farmer welfare and self-reliance .
Chief Minister repeated value-added agriculture's importance and crops like bamboo,jackfruit . He said these efforts would open new income streams for farmers and align with Prime Minister's vision for a developed India,or Viksit Bharat .
As seminar wrapped,participants dived into talks on boosting productivity and strengthening market links for farmers. They swapped ideas on using modern tech to build a resilient agricultural sector.

Gathering included notable names like MLA Premendra Shet,Agriculture Secretary Nikhil U. Desai,and various Directorate of Agriculture and NABCONS officials,plus farmers and agri-entrepreneurs.
