At a Road Safety Committee meeting Monday,Balaji revealed 121 deaths and 305 injuries from 277 road accidents in region . Data showed two-wheelers involved in 113 incidents,73 with cars,jeeps and others.

Accident locations were troubling. Balaji noted 138 on national highways,49 on state highways,90 elsewhere. He stressed need for National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and local police to pinpoint hazardous "black spots" and take preventive action . This means installing high mast lights,caution boards along highways.
