Flow of commercial vessels through Strait of Hormuz has dipped for three days straight. June 25 saw a peak with 54 ships navigating the crucial waterway. By June 26,number dropped to 48,then down to 38 on June 27. Just 22 vessels crossed on June 28 .
Total of 108 ships traversed the strait from June 26 to June 28. Out of these,40 vessels took a route suggested by Oman,while 37 went near Iran's island of Larak. Only nine stuck to the lane designated by International Maritime Organization. Many ships crossed with transponders off,stirring questions about safety and transparency.
Before March 2026,daily traffic through Strait of Hormuz averaged 100 to 120 vessels. But ongoing U.S.-Iran tensions have tightened restrictions,slashing maritime traffic . Now,only about 10 vessels reported crossing daily. Security in the region…
