First Allotment Results for Plus One Admissions
Directorate of General Education (DGE) dropped initial allotment results for Plus One admissions for 2026-27 on Sunday. 4,44,772 applications came in for 3,15,874 general seats — bumps up to 3,17,902 when including mandatory spots for differently-abled.
First round filled 2,46,638 seats,leaving 71,264 vacancies across quotas and community reservations statewide. Demand far exceeds supply in northern districts,especially Malappuram,where many still wait after first allotment.
Malappuram led with 82,753 applications. Secured most seat allocations,placing 40,554 students,yet 17,301 spots still open for 42,199 students looking to second allotment. General merit quota here filled completely, all 26,844 seats taken.
After Malappuram, Kannur and Kozhikode show 8,176 and 7,799 vacancies. Admissions from this allotment start 10 a.m . Monday, running till 5 p.m. Wednesday. Students getting top choice should pay fee,lock in spot . Others can opt for permanent or temporary admission,no fee for temporary.
DGE warns: candidates not securing at least temporary admission post-allotment will be out of future rounds. What happens to those still waiting...?
