In addition to Tamil Nadu,Uttar Pradesh reported shift in weather conditions on June 13,with Kanpur City recording the highest rainfall in the state at 67.6 mm . Other areas, such as Sitapur and Farrukhabad,also experienced substantial precipitation. Unfortunately,the adverse weather resulted in fatalities; two women and a minor girl lost their lives due to lightning strikes in Chandauli district,while several others were injured when a roof collapsed amid strong winds.
The IMD has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms and gusty winds in mid and higher hills of Himachal Pradesh,forecasting these conditions to persist through June 20. weather office noted that Kukumseri recorded a low of 5.6 degrees Celsius,while Una reached a high of 37 degrees Celsius. In the capital,temperatures are expected to hover around 38.5 degrees Celsius, slightly below the seasonal average.
Meanwhile, rainfall activities are anticipated in eastern Rajasthan as well,where light to moderate rain has already been observed. The highest rainfall of 44 mm was reported in Chomu, Jaipur district. The IMD predicts continued rain across several divisions in Rajasthan due to western disturbance .
In Telangana, a thunderstorm warning has been issued for 14 districts,including Peddapalli and Warangal, with gusty winds expected . The IMD's forecasts indicate that thunderstorms may occur at isolated locations, raising concerns about safety in the region .
In Jammu and Kashmir,officials are preparing for the monsoon season,emphasizing the need for readiness against potential water scarcity and flood threats. Minister Javed Ahmed Rana has urged local authorities to implement necessary measures to address these challenges.
