Big police sweep Friday afternoon in Kalaburagi taluk led to capture of Manjunath Ingale, 23, already charged under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Ingale first nabbed Wednesday in Pune, Maharashtra, after complaint about alleged kidnapping of 16-year-old girl.

He slipped away early Thursday from Afzalpur Police Station,where held. Reports say he got free from handcuffs overnight,used station's rooftop to escape. Surveillance cameras caught him leaving the building.

After his getaway, Superintendent Adduru Srinivasulu quickly put together a special four-member team,led by Sub-Inspector Somaling Wodeyar,to hunt Ingale. Same day, investigators tracked down suspect and abducted girl,bringing her back to Kalaburagi district for medical checks.

This security breach sparked an inquiry led by Aland Deputy Superintendent Thammaraya Patil, with a report sent to Superintendent Srinivasulu.
