Authorities got more time to deliver a detailed survey report on a prominent hill after a court ruling addressed ongoing discrepancies. This was decided by a Division Bench of state's High Court on the specified date, following Tamil Nadu government's notice for further assessments.
The court demanded any changes since 1931's historic judgment be documented in upcoming report, now due by mid-August. This order followed a legal push by a local religious group seeking to enforce an earlier mandate .
Earlier,the court instructed local revenue officials to work with Archaeological Survey of India to complete joint survey by May last year. The religious group wants entire hill managed by central government and ASI.
In 2025,the court allowed religious group to file fresh representations with central authorities and ASI, ensuring all parties' submissions get timely consideration. What happens next remains…
