Just 8.9 billion cubic meters added to European UGS last month. That's 1.1 billion cubic meters below May's average from 2015-2024.

To hit 90% capacity by November 1, 2025,operators need to pump in 41.9 billion cubic meters over next five months. That's 1.5 times more than same time last year,per Gazprom.

But boosting injection rates won't be easy. Maintenance work on gas infrastructure all summer complicates things . By May 31,active gas volume in European UGS was 48.6 billion cubic meters1.5 times less than last year,with a shortfall of 21.8 billion cubic meters.
