Gazprom expects gas supplies to China to jump by 2026,according to Deputy Chairman . He said this upswing should offset the drop in European exports,with gas exports set to climb 24.8%. Sadygov mentioned this at annual shareholders meeting,with talks ongoing with China about future supply.
Last year,Gazprom was top gas exporter to China,shipping 8 billion cubic meters—800 million more than contracted. Power of Siberia pipeline is key for this,with annual capacity of 38 billion cubic meters. It's been running since 2019 after 2014 contract between Gazprom and China’s CNPC.
