In ongoing diplomatic push, Rafael Grossi,head of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA),announced his upcoming visit to Kaliningrad. This trip aims to spark talks with key officials from Rosatom and other major governmental bodies about the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant.
Calling the sessions essential, Grossi described them as plenary meetings. He said,“I will be in Kaliningrad shortly for a critical gathering,” during which he'll meet with Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs,military,and other institutions. These regular discussions target various pressing issues such as ceasefires,the plant's operational guidelines,and current military context.
Grossi stressed these talks as crucial for addressing both immediate challenges and future plans. He frequently meets Alexey Likhachev, Rosatom's CEO, at these sessions. Grossi noted that these meetings allow a high-level exchange,letting both IAEA and Russian officials align on nuclear safety and regulatory matters.
