Himanshu Jangra publicly apologized after remarks at recent comedy show with Pranit More sparked backlash online . In a video Saturday,Jangra admitted parts of his dating story were exaggerated for laughs and regretted being part of event.
After controversy,Jangra lost job at Gurugram-based company. He had attended the show after liking previous episodes,where audience often shared funny stories . But he admitted his words were wrong. “I admit that I used some inappropriate words . I would like to apologize for that,” he said. “What I said was only meant to be presented in entertaining way. I did not have any such intention or mindset.”
Things escalated when Maharashtra Cybercrime police filed FIR against Jangra,More,others for online content. This came after video clip went viral,triggering criticism. Jangra said backlash hit home,affecting his family. “For the past two weeks, I have been heavily trolled,” he said. “My family initially learned about the controversy through relatives and neighbors.”
His parents confronted him,concerned after learning he lost his job. Jangra described regret, saying,“Whenever I look at my family,I feel a lot of regret and keep wondering why I ever went on that show.”
In his video,Jangra stressed he wasn't seeking sympathy but taking responsibility. His ex-employer shared video on Instagram,aiming to provide context and encourage respectful dialogue. “We believe that every situation deserves context, conversation,and clarity,” the company stated.
Pranit More also addressed criticism in his apology video. He acknowledged the upset over the crowd-work clip and took responsibility. “I understand why people are upset, and I genuinely feel that some of that criticism is warranted,” he said.
