Hyderabad marked 75 years of Salar Jung Museum on Sunday,a milestone blending rich heritage with future hopes. Event also honored 137th birth anniversary of Mir Yousuf Ali Khan,Salar Jung III,whose vision made museum cultural cornerstone .
During festivities,Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla stressed Hyderabad’s identity is more than just Charminar. He argued museum holds equal cultural weight. "The Salar Jung Museum is a living testament to Telangana’s rich historical and cultural heritage," he said, paying tribute to Salar Jung III,whose vast collection still inspires .
Governor also mentioned region's fame for diamonds like Koh-i-Noor,Hope,and Regent. Salar Jung III's art collection from Persia,Egypt, China,Japan, Europe shows Hyderabad’s historical openness to global influences. This tradition still vital to city’s identity.
Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka,Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana,called museum the "soul of Hyderabad," comparing Musi River to a stream of city memories. He announced plans to revive neglected river,transforming it into a riverfront like London’s Thames or Paris’s Seine. He sees Salar Jung Museum as cultural heart of this new area, drawing tourists to heritage streets and artifacts.
Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and MLA Mir Zulfiqar Ali noted historical ties between Salar Jung family and Hyderabad’s leadership,five Prime Ministers came from this lineage. Museum hosting events till June 21 for platinum jubilee,reinforcing its place in city’s cultural story…
